what is openness?

openness can be a vague concept, and that is essentially the point of being open - no boundaries or labels

being open means considering new ways of seeing the world

perspectives

being open means a willingness to experience different kinds of relationships

relationships

being open means a willingness to experience a multitude of feelings, "good" or "bad"

feelings

being open means a willingness to live life in new ways

being

- a lack of restriction

stillness

be open to experiencing the present as it is. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly remove our conscious awareness from the present. be open to the idea that your conscious awareness is stuck in the past or future at the expense of your awareness in the present.

vulnerability

be open to feeling emotions as they are. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly accumulate emotions that we have distorted through dualistic judgment. be open to the idea that the things you judge as "good" or "bad" are not as they seem.

innovation

be open to a new way of thinking. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly program ourselves with limiting beliefs as a way to control our reality. be open to the idea that your thought patterns are rooted in suppressing uncomfortable emotions and fears by blaming things in your external reality.

open-hearted

be open to a new forms of love. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly reject parts of ourselves as unlovable. be open to the idea that the parts of yourself that you hate the most are simply the parts of yourself that you are most afraid of loving.

creativity

be open to a new way of expression. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly limit the ways in which we express ourselves. be open to the idea that you are reinforcing a reality based on illusion from limiting beLIEfs.

open-minded

Be open to a new way of perception. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly distort our perception of reality. be open to the idea that the way you see the world is a distorted, dualistic projection of your deepest fears.

oneness

be open to a new way of connection. as we accumulate subconscious patterns, we increasingly create separation between ourselves. be open to the idea that you are a multidimensional being well beyond your current understanding.

surfacing

as far as subconscious patterns go, embodying the element of air causes things to surface from your subconscious more than usual. this is a great thing, if you wish to expand into your subconscious. it will feel like whatever needs to be resolved within you will simply come to the surface of your awareness when it is time to resolve it. if you cannot bring unlovable parts of yourself to the surface (present), you will not be able to start the healing process for them. take note that the definition of openness does not actually require you to do anything. you can be open no matter what you are doing, thinking, feeling, etc.

the bigger picture

embodying the element of air allows one to maintain awareness of the bigger picture. this allows them to have some of sort vision or direction in life without getting lost in the details.

spirituality

embodying the element of air also allows one to tap into metaphysical aspects that they would normally be closed off from. these aspects can have tremendous impact in shaping your reality.
