Duality: Masculine vs Feminine

Updated: Apr 23, 2020

This dualistic cycle affects every person on this planet. It goes very deep and comprehensively pushes all of our subconscious patterns.

This dualistic cycle is rooted in an inner conflict between one's masculine and feminine selves, or one's thoughts and feelings.

Inside of us, these parts of us are fighting against each other. They are blaming each other for their issues. This can easily be seen when one views the collective consciousness as a whole. Men and women frequently fight against each other. If only we realized that we were all one.

What exactly is masculine or feminine?

Our ideas of masculine and feminine are very limited. We tend to associate it with societal views of them. Specifically, we tend to associate masculine qualities with the men in our life and feminine qualities with the women in our life. This is fine as long as one understands that those men and women likely have issues of their own. We may base our idea of masculine/feminine on people in our lives who actually embody fear-based versions of qualities from both. In this way, our idea of masculine and feminine tend to just be a projection of our past experiences. If we continue to hold onto these ideas, we can program our minds in very limiting ways.

Masculine energy deals with how we create the life we desire. It could be summarized as power. It is closely related to action, thought, and expression. Fear-based ideas of masculinity tend to revolve around creating an external reality that allows us to avoid our fears and emotions.

When we embody masculinity on a deeper level, our actions are no longer an attempt to use our external reality to control our emotions. We develop inner strength as we release all attachments to external forms of power. Inner strength guides us to confront our most uncomfortable emotions. Inner strength guides us to accept the parts of our self that we keep running from. Inner strength guides us to stop living our lives to please others. Inner strength guides us to live our lives in a way that aligns with our soul purpose.

Feminine energy deals with how we experience life. It could be summarized as feeling. It is closely related to emotions, intuition, wisdom, and creativity. Fear-based ideas of femininity tend to relate to a dependence on our external reality to be a certain way in order to love ourselves.

When we embody femininity on a deeper level, our feelings are no longer dependent on our external reality. We develop inner vision as we no longer use limiting beliefs to manipulate our emotions. Our inner vision allows us to experience emotional vulnerability (and therefore emotional intimacy). Our inner vision allows us to see the true nature of everyone around us, allowing us to become more accepting. Our inner vision allows us to perceive past the illusions of this reality.

Bridging the Gap

Notice how fear-based expressions of masculinity and femininity are rather similar. People often think there is an imbalance between masculine and feminine as if they are mutually exclusive on a spectrum. This is not the case. From this, we incorrectly perceive people as lacking masculine or feminine energy alone. In reality, they actually lack both.

All subconscious patterns can be traced to a lack of both masculine and feminine energy.

We all should be embodying masculine and feminine energy regardless of our gender or sex. A failure to do this will always result in issues through subconscious patterns.

Avoiding one's fears represents a lack of both masculine and feminine. It takes inner strength to confront your fears, and it takes inner vision to see those fears as illusions.

Judging others represents a lack of both masculine and feminine. It takes inner strength to confront one's projections. It takes inner vision to feel the related emotions on a deeper level in order to release them.

Controlling behaviors represent a lack of both masculine and feminine energy. It takes inner strength to release external forms of control and confront one's most uncomfortable feelings. It takes inner vision to perceive one's emotional manipulation through their external reality.

Rejection represents a lack of both masculine and feminine energy. It takes inner strength to confront the parts of yourself that you reject and project onto others. It takes inner vision to see the innocence inside those parts of yourself in order to forgive them.

As we bridge the gap, our masculine and feminine sides rejoin in a great reunion. It will literally feel like two people in a deeply romantic relationship falling in love or seeing each other after years apart. However, those forms of love will be both created by you and received by you. Often times, this will occur as a kundalini awakening, or the opening of all 7 major chakras. When this occurs, one begins to embody nondualistic, multidimensional consciousness as they start to transcend dualistic cycles.
